Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Principal Adviser to come and join our team. You will be responsible for providing strategic and intellectual leadership in relation to Rural Communities and Farming Support (RCFS) and RCFS direction and our role in influencing and delivering MPI priorities and cross-sector Government priorities.

This role will see you take the lead in matters that enable the Rural Communities and Farming Support Directorate and support Agriculture and Investment Services (AIS) deliver benefits to communities, across the sector, and assist set up to lead and deliver strategic projects and priority initiatives across our programme of work.

**To succeed in this role you'll be**:

- A recognised expert in your field
- have a relevant tertiary degree
- have significant understanding of how government agencies function
- with substantial experience involving analysis, internal and external consultation, and engagement, planning and organising and interaction with decision makers; and
- a comprehensive knowledge of the primary sector and the context it operates in

We have a key role in responses and recovery following adverse events affecting the primary sector and rural communities. We have a key role in supporting resilience building.

We provide regional intelligence on issues and opportunities affecting the primary sector and rural communities, and an on the ground perspective into policies and programmes.
