Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
The People Division within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade ensures that we have the right people and culture to deliver on the Government’s priorities.
We have two fantastic senior opportunities, reporting to the Head of Capability Culture and Programmes:
The Principal Adviser - Culture and Capability will provide thought leadership and expert advice on organisational development, workplace culture and engagement, supporting the Ministry’s Diversity and Inclusion strategy including taking action on our gender and ethnic pay plan initiatives.
Our Principal Adviser - Leadership will also provide thought leadership and expert advice on organisational development and workplace cultures as well as developing and delivering initiatives across our leadership development framework and pathways.
These roles will see you designing and developing frameworks and strategies, initiatives and plans which will then be implemented according to project management principles.
**Key Accountabilities for our Principal Advisers include**:
- Providing expert Organisational Development advice as a trusted adviser
- Contributing to the overall People Strategy
- Providing effective reporting and project management to successfully implement capability and culture initiatives.

The appointment range for this role is $117,541 to $159,025 total remuneration including employer contribution to kiwisaver - however this is negotiable depending on experience.

Our Principal Advisers will have a comprehensive understanding of workplace culture and organisational development as well as experience designing and implementing capability and culture strategies. Additionally, you will have:
- Experience in design and development of HR frameworks and strategy
- Designed and developed organisational development programmes of work, encompassing one or more of, culture, engagement, values, diversity and inclusion, leadership development and organisation development.
- Knowledge and understanding of people policies, processes and systems
- A proven track record of building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong project management skills and experience
