About the role
There is an opportunity for you to join our team as Senior Partnerships Advisor - Ethnic reporting to the Principal Partnerships Advisor - Ethnic.
The Senior Partnerships Advisor will support the Principal Partnerships Advisor and the Ethnic National Partnerships team to establish and maintain effective relationships with the wider Ethnic Liaison network, community leaders, and be able to understand and translate the needs of the community for better policing.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Supporting the delivery and implementation of the NZ Police Ethnic Strategy and ‘Our Business’, including strategies and wider initiatives of Iwi & Communities and NZ Police.
- Team player: Contributes to the wider team by being proactive, taking initiative and managing time and competing deadlines appropriately.
- Supporting the Ethnic National Partnerships Team to establish, build and maintain strong and effective working relationships with community leaders on a national basis across the Portfolio
- Engaging and consulting with community leaders
- Understanding issues and needs within ethnic communities from a Policing perspective
- Coordinating and facilitating meetings between NZ police and community leaders through effective communication
- Managing consultation processes to achieve community input into Police strategies and initiatives
- Maintaining a database of key contacts within and across communities
- Maintaining effective working relationships with Responsiveness Managers and Liaison Officers within Districts to foster a commitment to delivering on Iwi & Communities strategies and initiatives
- Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with other agencies, NGOs, embassies, and third-party providers working with ethnic communities within the Portfolio

- Competent written communication skills to assist with the preparation of briefings and reports
- It is advantageous if you are fluent in an Ethnic language
- Flexibility to travel is a requirement of the role
- Part of our work is engaging directly with and supporting our communities, this may require shared flexibility to work evenings and on weekends if required
