**About New Zealand Blood Service**

New Zealand Blood Service (NZBS) is dedicated to saving lives. Every year, tens of thousands of generous people donate their time, blood and plasma to us for free. At the end of the day, you know that you've contributed in some way to making a difference in someone's life.

Our blood and plasma products are used to save the lives of patients with a wide variety of conditions including accident victims, auto-immune disease patients and cancer patients. Because of their life-saving effectiveness, the demand for these products is rapidly increasing. So, we need to encourage more community-minded people to donate. We are therefore seeking new Donor Relations Co-ordinators to join our Waikato team.

Our shared values are at the heart of our organisation's culture and guide our behaviour each and every day. These values inspire, motivate us and drive us to provide the very best service to the New Zealand public.

**How you will make impact**

The Donor Relations Coordinator role will suit someone with a background in sales, account management or relationship management.

To help us grow our donor database, you must be able to sell the benefits of donating whole blood and plasma. You will work with people from all walks of life. And, you will interact with people both one-on-one and in group settings.

You will also need to bring a positive, 'can-do' attitude with the flexibility to handle a variety of tasks. No two days are the same. We will expect you to:

- Coordinate our corporate groups and run special events
- Cooperatively work with others to network with Business Leaders/Senior Managers
- Promote the importance of blood and plasma donations to companies and community groups
- Attend our mobile blood drives to recruit new plasma donors
- Support Donors to donate regularly

You will:

- Be one of a team of 7 reporting to the Waikato Donor Relations Team Leader
- Work from our Donor Centre in Hamilton
- Travel throughout the Bay of Plenty/Waikato region, as necessary

**About you**

As our new star, you will:

- be able to influence a wide range of people and demonstrated ease in building productive new relationships internally and externally
- relish the opportunity for face-to-face interactions
- be comfortable with the pressure to meet performance targets
- have the skills and confidence to convert conversations into appointments
- bring a positive and optimistic mind-set to work
- have basic to intermediate skill level in MS Excel, Word and Outlook.

**What we can offer you**
- Opportunities for skill development
- The job security that comes with a growing organisation within an essential service organisation
- Engagement in the development of strategies and tactics tailored to a region or territory, in order to recruit and retain blood donors
- Being part of a motivated and collaborative team
- A role where you will have a sense of pride knowing that what you do contributes to positive health outcomes for donors and patients.
