The Ministry for Primary Industries is currently recruiting for two Sector Engagement Lead positions to join our Forestry Engagement & Advice directorate which forms part of our wider Te Uru Rākau - New Zealand Forest Service business unit based in Wellington.

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
As a Sector Engagement Lead, you will be responsible for leading engagement with partners and stakeholders across the forestry and wood processing supply chain. Through this engagement you will represent Te Uru Rākau and identify opportunities to build engagement and manage engagement risks.

**Your key responsibilities for this role are**:

- Representing Te Uru Rākau within the commercial forestry sector to drive and influence outcomes and strategic objectives
- Managing customer relationships within various segments and ensuring our offerings are fit for purpose
- Developing engagement plans & frameworks to support internal workstreams
- Identifying and managing engagement risks and opportunities to improve outcomes for forestry sector participants
- Leading Te Uru Rākau's response within the sector during emergency response situations
- Supporting the regional field teams with their engagements and partnerships within the sector

Mōu - About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have 10+ years of relevant industry experience - within forestry or a very similar environment. A huge part of this role will be your engagement and stakeholder management skills, so while it is preferred you have related industry experience, we are open to considering various backgrounds. You may also be someone with a focus on and experience in primary sector programmes with outcomes relevant to Māori and will have knowledge of current Māori political and structural systems.

These roles form part of the Forestry Engagement and Advice directorate within Te Uru Rākau - New Zealand Forest Service. Te Uru Rākau - New Zealand Forest Service is a branded business unit within the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) and is leading the Government's renewed focus on forestry, one of our country's most successful primary industries.
