**About the Role**

As the Product Safety Engineer you will be responsible to the Engineering Manager Product Safety within the Engineering, Technology and Program Management (ETaP) function and will support management of the Product Safety System across Australasia. In particular, the role seeks to develop and implement Safety Engineering standard within Babcock Australasia as part of its Systems Engineering capability.

Key responsibilities will also include:

- Lead the development and management of the safety engineering capability, encompassing our people, processes, tools and data, to meet the current and future needs of Babcock Australasia across hardware, software and service products.
- Lead the development and implementation of plans and procedures to ensure that the products (goods and services) we provide to our customers are safe.
- Carry out technical investigations and analysis to provide data for problem assessment/resolution and process improvements.
- Deliver and monitor assigned tasks and projects ensuring requirements are delivered to time, quality and cost objectives.
- Ensure capability and project risks for safety engineering are communicated appropriately to relevant stakeholders and leadership

**About you**

You will hold an accredited (under the Washington Accord) bachelors degree in

Engineering or hold the recognised engineering qualifications to be eligible to obtain

Professional Engineer category membership through a recognised body.
