**About the role**
NZ Police’s Assurance Group are seeking two highly skilled people to increase capability within the Protective Security workstream, specializing in Physical Security and Information Security
Based at Police National HQ in Wellington and reporting to the Manager: Protective Security/CISO, the Senior Assurance Advisors conduct security risk assessments, assess designs and implementations and provide ongoing reporting across NZ Police’s suite of physical assets and ICT assets respectively.
They also help uplift security through policy development, training and security awareness. They help to keep the organisation and the public safe, and support Police’s people to ‘do the right thing’.
**Two Senior Assurance Advisors** are being recruited to lead Police’s work in the following areas:
- **PHYSEC** - Providing guidance, support and assurance to Property Group, Districts and Service Centres on procedural and technical security controls to ensure security risks are managed across the Police property portfolio. A core part of this role is to deliver risk assessment, advice and reporting on new and upgraded sites.
- **INFOSEC **- Providing guidance, support and assurance to ICT, Districts and Service Centres on ICT systems, services and information assets to ensure information security risks are managed. A core part of this role is to deliver risk assessment, advice and reporting on in-house ICT, cloud and other outsourced services.
Both roles will also contribute to security awareness and wider Assurance Group activities and outcomes.
Key Accountabilities:
- Deliver high-quality assurance services through experience in the respective specialist area: physical security or ICT security. Completion of a tertiary-level qualification in a relevant discipline is not required but it is an advantage
- Enjoy working in a collective, collaborative environment, with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrate innovative problem-solving skills, and robust and well-informed decision making
- Deliver high-quality written and oral communications to a range of stakeholders.
- Be a self-starter, with a high level of initiative and the ability to self-manage
- Be committed to developing and maintaining a culture of respect and inclusion
- Have or be able to secure and maintain a national security clearance
