**About the team | Ko te rōpū nei**

You will be carrying out your role in the Central City and its surrounding suburbs, as well as Banks Peninsula. You will be a part of the Landscape Architecture team here at the Council that are responsible for the design and construction of public parks and reserves, playgrounds, waterways and constructed wetlands, ecological areas and other public spaces. They also contribute to the planning and design of roads, cycle ways, walkways and other infrastructure facilities.

**About the role | Ko te mahi nei**
- You will have responsibility for complex city-wide projects where your knowledge will be implicit in solving problems and generating ideas.
- You will be managing bigger landscape projects from conceptual design through to implementation.
- Your skills within the area of landscape planning will enable you to advise on landscape assessment matters to influence projects, as well as assisting the Council resource consent planners.
- Using your knowledge and well developed relationship skills you will be mentoring and coaching junior landscape architects, passing on your expertise and helping others to learn and grow.
- Your initiative and drive will see you playing a role as a trusted colleague to your Team Leader who will look to you to step up in times of need.
- You will be providing advice and guidance to other team members on the feasibility of projects, and reviewing and critiquing the designs of others including external consultants

- Experience as a Landscape Architect on complex landscape related projects and landscape planning matters.
- Good people skills to enable successful collaboration across a variety of disciplines and to work together with the public and key stakeholders
- An ability and desire to mentor and coach others
- Excitement about the prospect of working on projects that have positive impact on the environment and the people of Ōtautahi, Christchurch
