Are you an inquisitive, solution & people focused Planner or Landscape Architect?
- Are you looking for a better lifestyle in a semi-rural, close knit and rapidly growing community?
- Do you seek the challenges of working on strategic outcomes for our community and environment?

Waimakariri District is one of the fastest growing Districts in New Zealand and the third largest, by population, in the South Island. This brings with it abundant challenges across a diverse range of areas. We promise to be professional, approachable and solutions-focused when providing for our community.

The Waimakariri District Council are looking for a new Greenspace Landscape Planner with the ability to work effectively across a wide range of issues and enable a customer-focused environment.

This position is within the Design and Planning Team and will support the delivery of work for the Greenspace Unit. You will be working with a friendly, sociable and motivated Greenspace Unit within a highly engaged, positive Council environment.

We currently have some exciting projects underway working alongside developers as well as completing our Greenspace Capital Programme and the successful applicant will be part of a team supporting these projects to fruition.

As part of this, the successful applicant will seek proactive solutions for community wellbeing through recreation provision in the public realm. An additional area of work within this role is providing design support for the Greenspace Team, including landscape plans, CAD drafting, and visual aids for new reserves and redevelopments.
