**What's the job?**

This role is a two year fixed term position, at an intermediate level. You will be carrying out your role in the Central City and its surrounding suburbs, as well as Banks Peninsula. You will be a part of the Landscape Architecture team here at the Council that are responsible for the planning, design and construction of public spaces and infrastructure facilities. In addition you will play a significant part in inspecting and approving new private subdivision landscape proposals, and providing landscape related advice to subdivision developers.

**Responsibilities include;**
- Receiving, inspecting and approving subdivision landscape and street tree plans. This includes coordinating across Council with different asset groups, and providing landscape related advice to subdivision developers and their agents.
- You will review subdivision landscape plans, design reports, and non-conformance reports against the provisions of the Council Infrastructure Design Standards (IDS), Construction Standard Specifications (CSS) and Wetlands and Waterways Design Guide (WWDG).
- You will also take part in some city-wide projects where your landscape architecture knowledge will be implicit in solving problems and generating ideas, from conceptual design through to implementation.
- Contributing to a team environment that encourages participation, initiative, innovation, flexibility, trust, responsibility, and accountability which is consistent with the Council's values.
- You will be able to maintain strong and effective partnerships with external consultants, private developers, Government agencies and organisations to enable effective subdivision approval process as well as the delivery of the Council's capital programme.

**What do you need to be successful?**
- A broad landscape architecture knowledge, and experience and understanding of subdivision landscape design.
- Experience and knowledge of tree and plant species, and good horticultural practice.
- Good organisational and administrative skills, with experience in processing, filing and keeping accurate records.
- Good people skills to enable successful collaboration across a variety of professional disciplines, and to work together with the private developers, the public and key stakeholders.

- Salary_ - $74,762 to $99,225 per Annum
- Location_ - This position is primarily based at Civic Offices, Hereford Street
