**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a permanent, full-time Service Designer to join the Digital Transformation team. The role will contribute to and deliver business solution development for Te Tai Matihiko - Digital Solutions (DS) customers and internal teams by using and promoting the use of Agile, Design Thinking and User Experience approaches to project design and implementation.

Key responsibilities:

- Problem assessment and requirements completed using human centric design practice.
- Requirements discovery and documentation completed by conducting interviews, workshops, storyboards, document analysis and process development, user stories to capture visual and interface design to understand customer needs with finesse.
- Define usability, quality attributes, external interfaces and constraints.
- Develop MVP experiments to test market acceptance.
- Contribute to the successful completion of DS projects by active involvement at all stages of the project lifecycle from inception to delivery, scoping, planning, analysis, design, UAT testing, implementation, training and support.
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into requirements.
- Prepare documentation including requirements analysis, solution and technical option assessment, feasibility studies, technical specifications and designs, test plans and support documentation.

You will:

- Be a motivated Service Designer who will assist the Digital Transformation team to achieve its goals by providing quality service design and business analysis, enabling the wider DS team to deliver on operational and strategic plans.
- Keep customers well-informed, manage stakeholder expectations and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.

Key requirements:

- Proven experience in human centred design and business analysis in an Agile context.
- Sound experience and understanding of Agile methodologies and techniques especially Scrum and Kanban.
- Experience in working across several projects with a strong customer service focus.
- Good knowledge and understanding of technology and its impact on the business environment.
- Experience in a project team environment, ideally in IT, as a Business Analyst.
- Experience with mapping customer journeys to enhance the customer experience.
- Proven ability to understand and effectively translate strategy, technical and architecture documentation into business terminology.
- Proven ability of wireframe and prototype including conceptual architecture, process and other technical diagrams and data models.
- Proven ability to effectively capture, analyse and document requirements and to assess potential solution alternatives.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with user groups, vendors, stakeholders and all levels of management.
- Strong presentation skills and able to lead development discussions.
