**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Kaitohutohu tauira - Student Adviser, Te Here Tāura Rangahau - Faculty of Graduate Research, on a permanent contract.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide end to end post-graduate advisory services to a designated portfolio of students, staff, and managers using best practice case management principals.
- Works as an effective member of the post graduate research advisory team and actively contributing to the team’s goals.
- Collaborate effectively with Schools and central services units around postgraduate processes.
- Develop and maintain good understanding of relevant University regulations, policies, procedures, and services.

To thrive in this role with an excellent manner with people, an ability to influence and manage conflict, strong attention to detail, and self-management skills. This role is busy, challenging, extremely rewarding and interesting for the individual with the right temperament.

Key Requirements:

- Knowledge of the postgraduate research environment.
- Demonstrated experience in building positive relationships with cohorts and be proactive in assisting others.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritise a range of tasks and issues in a busy environment.
- Demonstrated time management and sound organisational skills.
- Proven ability to work with others to ensure key deadlines are met.
- Experience in dealing with sensitive issues with professionalism.
- A tertiary degree, or comparable professional experience.
- Excellent oral and written skills.
