**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The Cancer and Blood Research unit at Te Toka Tumai Auckland offers people with cancer and their whānau the opportunity to participate in high quality observational studies and clinical trials, leading to improved clinical outcomes.

The Cancer and Blood Research team provides support across all research activity in Cancer and Blood / Te Pūriri o Te Ora from operational to strategic development, building capability through resource sharing and skill development driving innovation, compliance and best practice. Working with clinicians, leaders, funders and relevant external agencies, the Cancer and Blood Research team facilitates and enables research growth in Cancer and Blood.

The primary purpose of the role is to ensure quality oversight of the trial activities performed by the Cancer & Blood Research team, review and bring in the initiatives to facilitate improvement of existing quality management systems in the department. The QA Officer is responsible for development, maintenance and oversight of the GCP activities related to clinical trials run by the Cancer & Blood Research team.

**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills**
- Minimum 3 years demonstrated experience working in clinical trials, including at least 2 years of quality assurance, auditing or monitoring experience
- Experience in project management techniques
- A demonstrable interest in cancer and blood clinical research
- Experience in stakeholder and external relationship management
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of health and/or social services sectors
- Experience in planning, implementation, reporting and evaluation processes.
- Demonstrate alignment with Te Toka Tumai values
- Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP) leader and or certification facilitator working to international standards and best practices
- Demonstrate a good understanding and knowledge of clinical trial delivery and or cancer care.
