**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Kaiārahi Eke Panuku - Student Success Adviser to join the Tītoko - Centre for Student Success team on a permanent, full-time basis.
The Kaiārahi Eke Panuku - Student Success Adviser will join Te Wāhanga a Manaia - Faculty of Science and Engineering and Te Pukenga Wai - Faculty of Education, Health, and Psychological Sciences and will be based at the Kelburn Campus.
Kaiārahi Eke Panuku - Student Success Advisers provide holistic student advice and high-quality responsive service to support student academic success and enhance the student experience within the framework of the University’s academic policies, regulations, and operating procedures.
Key responsibilities:
- Advising an assigned student cohort group using best practice case management principles.- Identifying barriers facing students by utilising equity, diversity, and inclusion policies, practices, and behaviours that lead to student success.-
- Providing ongoing interaction with students throughout the trimester, particularly at key momentum points, and monitoring to ensure early awareness of students who are facing particularly significant barriers to success.- Developing and maintaining a good understanding of relevant University regulations, policies, procedures, and services.

- Be a motivated, customer-focused individual who can take the initiative, provide excellent administration and policy compliance.
- Need to be an effective communicator with exemplary interpersonal skills and a natural relationship builder who relishes working autonomously as well as contributing positively to a high performing team.
- Need effective time management and forward planning to balance meeting deadlines and maintain a high standard of service to both students and staff.
- Have the ability to remain calm under pressure and thrive working with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Key requirements:
- Tertiary degree or comparable professional experience in a similar role.- Demonstrated client-centred approach and service delivery skills.- Cultural competency - the ability to work effectively and understand the different needs across a diverse range of people.- Proven ability to proactively navigate and manage issues to a successful resolution.- Highly developed oral and written communication skills and attention to detail.- Sound understanding of academic statutes and student academic processes.- Ability to work effectively in a team and manage a busy workload.If this link is not available, click 'apply' to view this on the University careers page.
