**The Opportunity**:
We’ve recently reviewed our health and safety management system hospital-wide and we are looking for some fresh ideas and expertise to support our safety and wellness journey.

We have around 210 employees located on a single site who work across a range of departments including clinical, hospitality and corporate administration roles. We also keep safety front of mind for our nearly 200 credentialed specialists, attending our facilities to perform surgical work.

We are seeking a Safety & Wellness Advisor for this fantastic opportunity where you will have scope to shape the strategies and systems at Braemar Hospital, ensuring implementation and ongoing monitoring for effectiveness.

Working alongside a supportive General Manager, who is truly focused on this opportunity mutually enhancing your career and the organisations safety and wellness practices, ongoing professional development including additional study and maintaining expertise will be available.

We see this role as being suitable for a strong Health & Safety Coordinator looking for their next step, or perhaps you have been working in an Advisory role for a year or two and you’re looking for a change.

To be successful:

- You will have proven experience maintaining a ‘fit-for-purpose’ Health & Safety Management System, and a strong vision of ‘what good looks like’ in the safety space;
- You will have experience in hazard identification and risk management activities;
- You will possess and exude a genuine passion for safety and wellness and an ability to inspire others and establish meaningful relationships;
- Total wellness is key for us, you’ll be curious about organisational monitoring and managing of psychosocial risk and open to further training and development in this space;
- You will have strong written communication skills with a flair for developing policies and procedures, and excellent time management skills with an ability to meet deadlines;
- Ideally, you’ll have a NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Health & Safety, and be NZISM Accredited or NZSC Registered, or be willing to study towards a relevant qualification;
- You don’t need a background in the health sector. We welcome applicants from different industries to our own, to attain innovative thinking and fresh ideas
