Hamilton, New Zealand Gallagher Full time

At Gallagher, protecting what matters most isn’t just our purpose - it’s how we show up for our people every day. We’re looking for a Group Health & Safety Manager to lead the next chapter of our global safety journey - one that’s as much about leadership, wellbeing, and culture as it is about systems and compliance.

**The opportunity**

You’ll be the enterprise lead for Health & Safety across all Gallagher regions - setting strategy, guiding culture, and partnering with senior leaders and the Board to embed safety at the heart of how we work and grow.

This role is about influence and connection: coaching senior leaders to own safety outcomes, shaping global frameworks that are practical and people-first, and bringing clarity and confidence to the conversations that matter most.

**What you’ll do**

- Lead and evolve Gallagher’s global H&S strategy, aligning it with business growth and innovation.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the ELT, Board and Senior Leadership, shaping insights and driving informed decision-making.
- Oversee global systems, governance, and risk frameworks - ensuring effective alignment across all regions.
- Lead responses to Level 4 and key Level 3 incidents, managing stakeholder engagement, executive communication, and post-incident governance.
- Partner with external experts to benchmark, review, and lift Gallagher’s H&S maturity and compliance.
- Build capability and confidence in our leaders, helping them turn ownership into action.

**What you’ll bring**

- 10+ years’ experience leading H&S strategy across multiple sites or geographies.
- Proven success influencing at senior levels - Board and executive presence is key.
- Deep understanding of high-risk operations and manufacturing environments.
- A global mindset, strong analytical capability, and the ability to translate complexity into clarity.
- Membership with a recognised professional body (CMIOSH, NZISM, AIHS or equivalent).

**Why Gallagher**

We’re a New Zealand success story with a global footprint - an innovation-led business grounded in care, integrity, and ingenuity. You’ll join a team that backs each other, celebrates progress, and genuinely believes in making a difference.

If you’re ready to lead a global H&S function with purpose, influence, and heart - we’d love to hear from you.
