Position Overview
An opportunity exists for a high achieving, self-motivated and results driven individual to join our team at our Mountview site, in Tauranga, as part of the manufacturing team.
Reporting to the Site Leader at Mountview, the Site Engineer will ensure the maintenance service requirements for the site are met and to ensure plant availability and reliability to achieve customer requirements and regulatory commitments as a Major Hazard Facility.
Job Responsibilities
Ensure the business EH&S processes, reporting, goals and targets are met and personally contribute to the EH&S culture of the business;
Maintain required safety and security standards and ensure good maintenance of all plant equipment, tools, and other Company assets for which responsible;
Ensure any non-conformance is identified and eliminated;
Ensure equipment is operating safely and in compliance with company policies and safety standards;
**Managing assigned EHS systems, for example but not limited to**: Fire Risk Management, Management Of Change, Mechanical Integrity; and
Achieve team performance targets through active coaching and team leadership;
Autonomy in day-to-day management of Maintenance issues.
Operate effective maintenance systems and procedures that ensure agreed uptime and reliability is met;
Prepare operating reports on plant availability, costs, spares stock and progress against budgeted targets;
To prepare and submit cost budgets and forecasts to the Site Manager;
Take responsibility for the implementation and operation of the CMMS;
Manage maintenance contracts and the Contractor selection process;
Manage the Contractor relationships in an ethical manner.
Planning and managing plant maintenance shutdowns;
Ensuring that plant registers and drawings are up to date;
Manage smaller capital projects;
Maintain good process documentation to support maintenance activities; and
Maintain personal awareness of current market and technology trends to maximise opportunities and minimise risk
Uptime and efficiency of plant in a safe manner;
Proactively contribute to the improvement of the business profitability and cash-flow;
Achieve financial targets and business development opportunities through effective management of resources; and
Maintenance record keeping and reporting to a satisfactory internal and regulatory compliance standard.
Minimum Qualifications
A tertiary qualification in an Engineering discipline;
Sound knowledge of operations in manufacturing/chemical industry, with a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role;
Commercial experience with setting up and managing contractors for goods and services;
Well-developed leadership skills with the ability to motivate and review performance;
Working knowledge of current legislation and regulations relevant to the manufacturing environment and chemical industry;
Effective planning and organisation skills;
Advanced communication skills (written and verbal);
Proven ability to work in a highly demanding environment dealing with conflicting priorities that require initiative, flexibility and adaptability;
Ability to support stated business objectives, implement policies and procedures and actively champion change when required;
Presentation and conduct appropriate for representation of Hexion; and
Ability to utilise Six Sigma tools and participate in cross functional team projects including 5S, Rapid Lean and Management of Change.
