**What you’ll be doing**:
You will be responsible for producing designs for New Zealand’s national broadband network.

This role is responsible for asset, capacity and financial management of metro, core and regional optical transmission network. It covers the end to end lifecycle of technology from onboarding technologies, growth and enhancement through to retirement and replacement.

You will lead the development of asset management plans, capital budgets and selection of solutions to meet internal and customer needs. You will ensure success against plans by working closely with Infrastructure and Technology delivery teams. You will facilitate prioritisation and financial reporting through tracking activities and spend.

All of these activities involve working with a diverse range of internal teams, technology suppliers and customers.

**What you’ll bring to the table**:
You will need to work well within and across a technical team with the following responsibilities.
- Knowledge of asset management principles
- Experience in telecommunication industry with focus in Optical Networking
- Strong commercial and financial acumen
- Solid organisational skills
- Problem solving and analytical approach with attention to detail
- Stakeholder management experience with ability to drive results across diverse groups
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships and communicate at all levels
- Experience in business planning and business case development
- Supplier management and supply contract management to ensure that there are win-win agreements
- Change management skills and a proven ability to build, develop and implement strategies for improvement
