About the Role

The Group Manager, Technology and Operations, will planning, performance, and people functions across the FPIM Technology and Operations teams, ensuring they meet the needs of a rapidly growing customer base and continue to deliver a quality system experience. The role is responsible for the delivery of data assurance and quality services to support the current business operations.

This role provides thought leadership, ideation, innovation, and strong technical acumen to contribute to the ongoing delivery of FPIM's work programme and ensure it is successfully delivered. This role will also actively contribute to sector-wide planning and governance, working closely with fellow group managers across the health system and broader public sector. A key focus will be collaborating with customers and stakeholders to shape and support Health New Zealand's wider technology roadmap.

About you

You will have:

  • Extensive leadership experience (7–10 years) in senior management, with strong strategic, financial, and project management capabilities.
  • Proven ability to lead change, drive continuous improvement, and deliver quality outcomes in complex environments.
  • Advanced skills in business analysis, and risk management, supported by deep technical knowledge of IT systems, compliance standards, and service delivery.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with a track record of managing diverse teams and contracts across the public sector.
