The CE of Horizons Regional Council has an absolute passion and commitment for delivering excellence to the people of his region.
The varied geography of the region extends over 22,000 square kilometres of land in the central North Island and includes major rivers, and tributaries. This is a role with broad responsibilities where you will oversee the work plan and lead a team in their delivery to the priorities of the business.

As part of the river management leadership team, this role has a particular focus on a number of key result areas, and looks for applicants who have contemporary and proven skills in the following:
- leadership and development of people - many of whom may be working remotely
- a strong skillset in infrastructural asset management experience in the management of river and drainage operations, contracts, work programmes, and financial management
- comfort and confidence in building good relationships whilst representing your organisation in settings such as public meetings and with a broad range of stakeholders.
