You’ll also conduct mastery tests, lead audits, and investigate incidents, helping our frontline teams improve their skills and keep safety front of mind. Your work will ensure RSAS continues to meet regulatory obligations and operates within KiwiRail’s safety framework. - This role can be based in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, or Palmerston North, and requires travel across the network._ **Ngā pūkenga e rapu nei mātou | What you will bring**: You’ll be someone who leads by example, with a strong focus on safety and continuous improvement. You will bring: - Passion and pride in safe, efficient operations - Excellent communication and relationship-building skills - The ability to coach, mentor, and influence others - Knowledge of operating rules and procedures - Flexibility to work independently and manage competing priorities - A valid Full Class 1 Driver Licence **It would also be great if you have**: - Current operating licences for shunting and driving - Experience in coaching, mentoring, or auditing - A Level 5 Mechanical Engineering qualification (or equivalent) - 5+ years’ experience in a rail or heavy industrial environment - Experience in depot track protection and lockout/isolation - A background in coaching, mentoring, or auditing within rail or heavy industry **Nōu te rourou | What’s in it for you**: At KiwiRail, you’ll be part of a supportive and inclusive workplace where your contribution makes a difference.
