Mana o te Tangata Trust is a kaupapa Māori mental health and addiction peer support service working across the Manawatū and Horowhenua regions. Our services are shaped by te ao Māori, lived experience, and a commitment to restoring the mana, wellbeing, and wairua of tangata whaiora and their whānau.

The Operations Manager plays a critical role in strengthening the systems, processes, and operational functions that enable our kaimahi to deliver high-quality support to tangata whaiora.

You will lead and enhance organisational operations, quality systems, health and safety, and continuous improvement initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a kaupapa Māori environment, enjoys working strategically and practically, and is passionate about improving outcomes for whānau.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Lead organisational operations, systems development, and workflow improvements
  • Support strategic planning and organisational development alongside the Manukura and Senior Leadership Team
  • Oversee Quality Management Systems and ensure compliance with best practice and kaupapa Māori principles
  • Lead health, safety, and wellbeing systems across the organisation
  • Manage operational projects and support organisational growth and sustainability
  • Build strong relationships with kaimahi, partners, and community stakeholders

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • 2-5 years' experience in operations, service coordination, or organisational leadership
  • Strong system-thinking, project management, and problem-solving skills
  • A collaborative leadership style and the ability to support others to thrive
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort engaging across diverse contexts
  • Commitment to kaupapa Māori approaches, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and culturally safe practice
  • Empathy, humility, resilience, and a passion for improving wellbeing in our communities

Experience in the health, social services, or not-for-profit sectors is an advantage.
