Sales Engineer

This person will be operating in the Business Area TOMRA Fresh within TOMRA Food.

We have an exciting opportunity for a customer centric Solutions or Sales Engineer to join our Bay of Plenty office in Papamoa. The role of our Solutions Engineer is to engage with our customers directly in tandem with our sales team on some exciting key projects. This includes providing layouts and designs for fruit handling and packing solutions that are fit-for-purpose, market relevant, profitable, and meet our customer's needs. You will have the opportunity to work with customers and design a complete packing operation.

The Solutions Engineer will:

- Participate in the sales, development and evaluation of systems design in process facility for customers.
- Support sales efforts as the technical arm in providing optimal solutions to customers in the produce industry.
- Write specifications and technical analysis reports necessary to study and produce systems design concepts.
- Perform design reviews with cross functional teams.
- Perform conceptualization, layout, detailed design and assemblies in 2D AutoCAD & 3D Inventor.
- Create technical data packages for production of the systems layout designs.
- Diagnose systems process, machine efficiencies, and determine root causes and corrective actions.
- Analyse customer needs and desired outcomes.
- Produce detailed pricing sheets for quotations.
- Carry out market investigations on new products (competitors and potential 3rd party equipment).
- Incorporate 3rd party equipment to integrate with our own/external suppliers.
- Production figure analysis and plant throughput for turn-key projects.
- Prepare presentations on pre-sale projects to present to customers.
- Ensure a smooth handover of won projects to the project engineering team.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience in sales or service and enhancing the customer experience.
- Relevant experience analyzing data to determine best-fit solution for the end customer.
- Proven ability to create innovative produce handling solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, required.
- Able to perform frequent bending, kneeling and standing, and work in confined spaces; ability to work in a manufacturing and packhouse environment.

Ideally you will also have:

- Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent engineering industry experience in automation or equipment.
- 2D drafting/design tools especially AutoCAD/SolidWorks/Inventor; 3D drafting/design tools experience.
- Food industry or materials handling experience
- AgriTech experience would be an advantage
