This is an exciting new role where you will play a key role in the continuous improvement and evolution of risk management at RBNZ. Te tūranga - The role The Senior Manager Risk role will be reporting to the Director of Risk and Compliance. This role will partner in designing our risk management framework and will be accountable for operationalising and maintaining the framework. This role will have an even split of technical and people leadership as you will lead a team of experts and be taking the lead on risk management at Te Pūtea Matua. As part of this role you will monitor and report on risk to the Executive Leadership Team and the Board. As the Senior Manager Risk, you will work right across the Reserve Bank and provide a dynamic and fit-for-purpose approach to managing risk while enabling stakeholders to reach their goals and deliver on key strategic objectives. To view the position description, click here. Ō pūkenga - About you To be successful in this role you'll have:

- At least 10 years of experience working in a risk management role
- Proven leadership experience with a proven ability to lead, coach, develop and motivate a team to perform at their best
- Proven experience transitioning a risk team and risk management frameworks to a higher level of maturity and capability through systems and process enhancements
- Proactive, with the ability to identify, influence and implement process improvements including novel solutions
- Proven innovative ability to solve problems, using analytical skills and critical thinking as required for areas of novel challenge and opportunity
- Embraces change, and actively works to bring a team along with any change
- Experienced in working within a partnership model with the proven ability to build business partnerships and to coach and influence a team to do the same.
- Ability to proactively identify and manage risk to resolution with judgement to, on occasion, escalate as appropriate in a timely manner
- Strong influencing skills, with the ability to identify key audiences and implement strategies to achieve required buy-in, decisions and actions
