My client is a large Healthcare organisation based in Grafton looking for a Health and Saftey Advisor.

You will have a key role in providing professional health and safety advice and support to the Facilities & Development team. The Facilities& Development team provide management services for the maintenance and upkeep of buildings, plant (e.g. boiler rooms), and properties, and are also responsible for the development of new facilities as well as the refurbishment of existing spaces.

The role is permanent full-time, Monday - Friday, 40 hours a week.

**Duties include**:

- Working with the F&D team to ensure the safety of staff, the public, contractors, and patients/visitors
- Provide professional support and advice to all key stakeholders and the F&D team
- Working with the H&S Manager in the development and implementation of the Health and safety strategy and policy, ensuring regulatory compliance and evidence-based best practices to achieve and maintain a safe and healthy working environment
- Implement, maintain and review H&S management systems that achieve legislative compliance and provide safe working environments, including ensuring accurate reporting and recording of workplace accidents
- Provide effective reports and recommendations designed to improve managers capability to manage H&S within their areas
- Project Management -Proactive and practical project plans that are contributed to and are supported by management and employees to assist the business to achieve businesses goals/targets based on the H&S Strategic plan
- Conduct complex root cause analysis investigations in relation to workplace harm incidents, in order to reduce Injuries and injury duration
- Be the identified point of contact for all safety matters relating to F&D and to and notify the Health and Safety manager of any areas of concern

**To be considered you will ideally have**:

- Minimum 3-4 years of Health and Safety experience in NZ
- Tertiary qualification in a Health and Safety and/or related field
- Experienced and competent in Microsoft Office suite of products
- A commitment to biculturalism
- A recognized qualification in safety auditing - would be preferable
