This is a newly created opportunity for a General Manager - Product Line in a new product category within the premium consumer durables sector. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction and strategy for a highly anticipated new portfolio of products.
You will be responsible for driving the development, launch, and ongoing success of innovative products that meet the needs of a global customer base.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle management process, from concept to launch and beyond.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify consumer trends, competitive landscape, and growth opportunities.
- Develop and execute product strategies and roadmaps that align with company goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, marketing, sales, and supply chain to ensure successful product development and launch.
- Define product requirements, features, and specifications based on market insights and customer feedback.
- Drive pricing, positioning, and go-to-market strategies to maximize product success and market penetration.
- Monitor product performance, analyse key metrics, and iterate based on customer feedback and market dynamics.
- Act as a product evangelist, effectively communicating product vision, value proposition, and differentiation to internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive developments to inform product strategy and innovation.
**About you**:
- You will likely have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field.
- Have a proven track record of at least 5 years in senior product management roles within the consumer durables industry, with experience launching new products.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze market data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute product roadmaps that drive business growth and competitive advantage.
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences and driving measurable outcomes.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing complex projects from conception to completion.
It is a prerequisite that you ‘come to the table’ with a strong understanding of the consumer durables market (as opposed to FMCG) Products with a longer lead time to
market life cycle.
This role has potential for succession, you will need to be a rising star and ambitious with that - the salary currently sits at circa $200k.
