The Department of Psychology at the University of Otago is recognised internationally for its excellence in research and teaching. The Department also provides a clinical psychology training programme for postgraduate students to obtain the Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology and become registered psychologists in the clinical psychology scope of practice in New Zealand.

The Clinical Psychology Centre, based in the Department, provides high quality, research-based, and culturally-informed training for our 12-student pre-internship cohorts, including supervision for students who work clinically with referred members of the community.

**_ The role/Te mahi_**

The position offers a unique opportunity for an established clinical psychologist (or clinical academic) to join a progressive, collegial, and internationally significant department with a proud teaching and research record, and growing Māori and Pacific student representation.
- Reporting directly to the Clinical Programme Director (and generally to the Head of Department), you will help support teaching and training within the clinical psychology training programme, including managing the Clinical Psychology Centre.
In this role you will:

- Be responsible for the administration and clinical practice of the Clinical Psychology Centre (CPC), including liaising with referral agents and assigning clients to psychology trainees.
- Manage the CPC clinical supervisors under supervision of the Programme Director.
- Provide supervision of clinical psychology practice to 5th (pre-internship) and occasionally 6th year (internship) clinical psychology students working within the CPC.
- Provide and organise clinic cover which involves set rostered time spent in the clinic.
- Provide lectures, within your areas of expertise, to students within the clinical psychology training programme. This includes preparation, assessment, teaching and paper administration duties as directed by the Clinical Programme Director.
- Carry out administration responsibilities within the Clinical Psychology Centre as well as wider clinical programme as requested by the Clinical Programme Director.

- Appropriate professional experience, including demonstrated ability to act as a team leader.
- Previous experience as a clinical supervisor.
- Excellence in case conceptualisation, formulation, diagnosis, and report writing.
- Established relationships with the local clinical community is desirable.
- Evidence of an ability to work well with students and staff from differing academic and cultural backgrounds.
- A commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and to equal opportunity.
