Mount Maunganui Engineering is a fabrication and machining workshop that specialises in all forms of general engineering including steel fabrication, piping & vessels, stainless & aluminium, CNC & manual machining and maintenance.

We are seeking a Jobbing Manager / Estimator to join our team

The Role

This is a full-time position Mon-Fri (45 Hours per week)

You would be liaising with clients from initial concept through to delivery of their projects

  • Working with clients and stakeholders to gain a thorough understanding of project requirements
  • Receiving and reviewing tenders
  • Site visits, taking measurements and reviewing the scope of work required
  • Developing detailed project plans
  • Estimating and pricing a variety of projects
  • Writing estimates, proposals and budgets
  • Working with the workshop and operational teams to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Preparing reports for the management team
  • Procurement and Ordering of Materials
  • Quality Assurance
  • Health & Safety

What we are looking for

We are happy to consider people who have experience in a similar role, graduates or engineering tradespeople that have good commercial acumen.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Great commercial acumen and attention to detail
  • Good technical knowledge, experience and training
  • Must be able to build and managing strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to read drawings and work autonomously
  • Great IT Skills - Experience of CAD would be a distinct advantage
  • Applicants must hold rights to work in NZ
