As a Linehaul Logistics Coordinator (Train Build), you’ll play a vital role in keeping our logistics running smoothly and our customers satisfied — all with safety front and centre. KiwiRail moves over a third of Aotearoa’s export goods, and our success relies on a strong, skilled team like you.
In this fast-paced role, you’ll be fully trained to support our operations and customer service teams. You’ll coordinate shunt movements, provide essential documentation, and ensure our systems are kept up to date.
Key responsibilities:
- Assemble mainline shunts, out-bound freight, and passenger trains
- Maintain accurate, timely data in our operating systems
- Communicate operational updates clearly to field staff
- Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple channels
**Ngā pukenga e rapu nei mātou | What (skills) you will bring**:
We’re looking for someone who is calm under pressure, accurate with details, and great at working with others. You’ll also need:
- A clean NZ driver’s license
- At least 2 years’ experience in logistics, shipping, or transport
- Strong data entry and Excel skills
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities
- Good geographical knowledge of Aotearoa
- Experience in a rail environment or unionised, 24/7 setting (desirable)
- Reporting or analysis experience (desirable)
