**Tenei turanga - About the Role**:
We are seeking an experience leader of people leaders to drive excellence within our Immigration New Zealand centralised privacy team.

The Manager Privacy Team is responsible for building and enhancing the overall capacity and capability of the team to ensure quality and consistency of practices. They will be a champion for privacy across INZ and work closely with wider MBIE privacy teams and networks. They will provide system ownership of Privacy across INZ to drive continuous improvement.

The Manager Privacy provides accountability and oversight of all privacy work across INZ and provides expertise on complex decision making and contributes insights and analysis of issues.

**Skills and Experience Required**
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated extensive knowledge of Privacy Act 2020 response processes.
- Proven experience in leading leaders of people and mentoring people leaders to achieve results and drive productivity at all levels.
- Proven experience in the implementation, delivery and continuous improvement of business and operational planning, performance and reporting systems and processes, including the capture and analysis of information
- Ability to communicate ideas, provide insightful feedback, facilitate workshops and presentations.
- Excellent political awareness and sensitivity to anticipate areas of potential risk and inform decision making.
- Proactive and action orientated with an appreciation of quality service delivery.
- Proven ability to develop trust and integrity with managers and staff.
- Understands the role within MBIE and how it contributes to MBIE's purpose.
- Excellent interpersonal skills in a variety of settings, including cross-cultural, employee and customer, and is approachable and unbiased when communicating with a variety of audiences and able to build sound working relationships.
- In-depth knowledge of processes at the centre of government as well as wider governmental processes and protocols.
- Sound organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to gain and maintain a national security clearance if required.
