We are looking for a talented Business Manager to support the leadership across the Financial and Commercial Group, enabling them and their teams to deliver their core business and strategic outcomes. This Group is responsible for a wide range of activities including:
- Managing the Crown's borrowing programme and providing corporate treasury services to departments;
- Providing trade credit insurance and financial guarantees to support exporters;
- Managing and advising on the Crown's shareholdings in commercial entities, and on governance and appointment decisions of these entities;
- Improving housing and infrastructure outcomes for New Zealand through Vote and broader sectoral advice; and
- Providing policy advice on Crown funding and financing arrangements and the Crown balance sheet.
**Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role**
Reporting to the Deputy Secretary of the Financial and Commercial group, you'll make a real difference to New Zealand's future by:
- Support and oversee the development, monitoring and accountability of the delivery of business plans and strategic activities across the Group
- Coordinate and support teams' and leaders' delivery of a range of processes including staff recruitment and induction, data collation, business performance and financial reporting, and internal communications.
- Directly manage two staff positions, with responsibility for coordinating responses to Official Information Act requests
- Build and maintain strong collegial relationships across the Group's leadership team and executive / team assistants, Treasury's shared services teams (including Finance, People & Wellbeing, Strategy, Planning & Performance) and ministerial offices.

- Experience in developing, implementing and improving systems to support specialist teams
- Proven business management skills including workflow and process management, business data and analytics, planning, monitoring and reporting
- Strategic and analytical thinking with the ability to make connections and ensure alignment across the Group and wider organisation
- Skills to guide, influence and collaborate across teams, underpinned with strong written and oral communication abilities
- Experience being adaptable, working calmly under pressure and anticipating and resolving problems with a can-do approach
- A strong commitment to achieving high standards and excellent results
- A great sense of humour and possess an optimistic outlook with the desire to learn.
