If you’re a positive, self-motivated Stock Manager or Senior Shepherd and are ready for the next step up while looking for an opportunity where you’ll be valued and developed, this could be the right job for you to consider. We’re a 1781 ha effective, busy farm supporting sheep, deer and cattle. This farm has a breeding programme that supplies sires to Pāmu commercial farms as well as external farming clients so an interest in or reasonable understanding of genetics would be helpful. This is a genuine and rare opportunity to grow your career and gain exposure to the wider livestock industry.

Working closely with a positive, supportive Farm Manager, you’ll have good planning skills and a strong delivery focus. You’ll care deeply about the animals you grow and the land that you work on. You’ll be well versed in animal health and management. You’ll be a confident communicator and will contribute towards the mentoring of other farm staff.

As our Stock Manager, the work that you’ll lead on this farm is very important to Pāmu’s farm systems nationwide.

You and your well-controlled team of dogs will be able to put your passion to work and feel a real sense of pride that comes from your own contribution as well as the strength of your team and the quality animals that we raise.

This farm is in a great location surrounded by a supportive community. There are sports team close by and lots of outdoor recreation. We run a five on / two off roster that means that you’ll work one weekend every five weeks. You’ll be able to schedule in family time, be involved in sports, go to the gym, hang out with friends, etc.

Pāmu offers a competitive salary including health and life insurance coverage and a recently renovated three bedroom home. Pāmu provides all wet weather gear, footwear and safety equipment as well as dog food and access to free firewood.
