**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

AT now has an exciting opportunity in our North Hub for an Elected Member Relationship Partner to work with the politicians who Aucklanders elect to govern our city**.**

You will be a natural at making connections, influencing politicians, and pulling apart bureaucratic blockages to forge innovative solutions. You will play a significant role in improving AT's responsiveness on local issues, cutting red tape and helping achieve valuable transport outcomes for local communities and the wider Auckland region.

**Ko koe tēnei | About you**

**To be considered for this role you will have**:

- Ideally 10 years' experience working in a political environment or highly complex organisation.
- A comprehensive and practical understanding of issues affecting people living in Central Auckland.
- Be culturally aware and responsive.
- Substantial experience in relationship management.
- A desire to see transport deliver changes for Aucklanders.
- Strong negotiation and conflict management skills.
- Ability to broker solutions both within and outside a complex organisation.
- A sound understanding of local government, including potential issues.
- Confidence speaking in public with large, diverse groups of people in impromptu situations.
- Ability to manage and resolve situations in a politically sensitive environment.
- Proven ability to produce thoroughly researched, comprehensive and well written reports.

You will be regarded as a person of integrity, with a strong sense of what is the right thing to do, as well as being resilient, diplomatic and having a good sense of humour.

We operate in a fast-moving environment with demanding people, so you will be highly organised, capable of performing effectively under pressure, the ability to manage and resolve situations in a politically sensitive environment and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

As this role requires you to attend Local Board meetings, it is essential that you are available after normal business hours several times each month, as these meeting are generally held in the evenings. Applicants must also hold a full clean NZ driver's licence.
