Company Description
**Te Tākinatanga | Our Story**
At Contact, we believe home is the most important place in the world. It's all part of our vision to leave Aotearoa better than we found it. We’re a power and broadband company, but we’re so much more than that. We are transforming the ways we mahi, and how Aotearoa is powered, leading the charge on renewable energy and digitising customer journeys in ways not yet seen here. A team of 1000+ from all walks of life who love what we do, look out for each other, and learn from one another every day, we’re stoked to be guided by our tikanga: _we touch lives to make life better_.
We’re on a major growth trajectory and our Corporate Finance team is pivotal to that. As we look to develop new energy markets, grow our earnings, and develop our capability, their numbers mahi matters more than ever.
**Job Description**:
**Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role***
We support our people to work how, where and when works the best. From wherever in Aotearoa that might be for you, as a Corporate Finance Analyst you’ll be taken under the wing of some of Aotearoa’s leading corporate finance, risk, and energy markets financial professionals to accelerate your development as a corporate finance professional.
There’s no “typical day” we can describe. Part of a humming team of 10, your mahi will be varied and exciting, working across investor relations, commodity risk management, financial modelling, capital allocation, and research of market and industry trends. We’re in a period of transformation, with loads of exciting projects underway and more coming up. We’re on a mission to decarbonise Aotearoa, and the behind-the-scenes mahi to get there is unlike anything else you could find in NZ.
This won’t just be great for your career, **it’s great for Aotearoa.**
**Qualifications**:
**Ko wai koe | About you**
In the words of the guy who could be your new boss, good Corporate Finance is art + science. To nail this role, you’ll need a little creativity and magic as well as the technical competencies you already know about. You first built these skills at uni studying Accounting, Finance, or Economics, went on to become CA or CFA qualified (or are nearly there) then _really_ refined them providing financial advisory services in a CA corporate finance team, investment banking, management consulting, or similar corporate background.
You’re developing your own consultative style and the ability to craft business cases that really connect with people. You can build rapport with ease - the whole relationship side of things comes naturally for you. You thrive in dynamic conversation and back your great verbal skills up with written comms that are just as good. You’re a keen learner who gets a kick out of researching and evaluating data and is comfortable working independently, but also enjoys bouncing off of peers and working collaboratively.
It would be great if you’ve worked in the Energy sector before, but we’re happy to provide training on the markets and would love to see a variety of backgrounds. Experience in financial modelling, project evaluation, and investment analysis is where it’s at, and if you have an interest in alternative modelling techniques (beyond Microsoft Excel, including R-studio / Python and data manipulation), even better.
Additional Information
Contact is not a place you’ll stagnate. We offer superb learning and development and genuine career progression opportunities along with a bunch of perks like free health insurance cover, better-than-your-average leave, access to Contact Shares, a ‘Good to be Home’ annual payment toward your home set up & wellbeing, discounts on Contact Energy products_, _and more.
