Mō te Tūranga | About the Role This role sits within the Enterprise Performance Division within our Finance Team, who support and enable the delivery of the BNZ Finance strategy. As the Senior Finance Partner, you will own M&A activity within finance, leading industry analysis, including identification of opportunities in market, and delivering financial and commercial analysis to meet the needs of senior management. You'll demonstrate your expertise for special projects where strong commercial acumen and a deep understanding of the total entity level financials and underlying drivers is required. What are the key day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?- Own and deliver activities involved in mergers, acquisitions, and divestments relating to the BNZ.- Support transaction lead in the running of M&A projects with opportunities to lead specific aspects of projects.- Undertake and/or oversee activities to gather data, structure and perform robust strategic analysis and financial modelling to support strategic decision making.- Develop clear and compelling business presentations or reports for senior executive audiences.- Build strong relationships across Finance and the Enterprise to ensure tasks and outcomes are integrated and aligned with business, risk and strategic considerations. What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this role? You'll be an experienced Finance professional, with a minimum of 5-7 years' experience in corporate finance / transaction services / corporate development roles. Strong stakeholder management and communications skills are also crucial, and you'll have the ability to influence without authority. You'll otherwise be a capable and competent leader who is always driving for continuous improvement. You will demonstrate: - A proven track record in influencing executives or clients.- You'll be highly analytical, and demonstrate strong business and financial acumen, with the ability to assimilate complex financial information into investor grade presentations.- Exceptional communication skills with demonstrated success in presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders.- Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline; Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) accreditation highly desirable What is the team culture and environment like?
