At Contact, we believe home is the most important place in the world. It's all part of our vision to leave Aotearoa better than we found it. We’re a power and broadband company, but we’re so much more than that. We are transforming the ways we mahi, and how Aotearoa is powered, leading the charge on renewable energy and digitising customer journeys in ways not yet seen here. A team of 1000+ from all walks of life who love what we do, look out for each other, and learn from one another every day, we’re stoked to be guided by our tikanga: _we touch lives to make life better_.

We’re on a major growth trajectory and our Corporate Finance team is pivotal to that. As we look to develop new energy markets, grow our earnings, and develop our capability, their numbers mahi matters more than ever.

**Job Description**:
**Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role***

We support our people to work how, where and when works the best. From wherever in Aotearoa that might be for you, as a Senior Corporate Finance Analyst you’ll work closely with some of Aotearoa’s leading corporate finance, risk, and energy markets financial professionals to accelerate your development and play a key role in ours.

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Finance, you’ll work across the full range of Corporate Finance functions, investing most of your time in financial modelling, capital project evaluation, investment analysis and mergers and acquisition, as well as contributing to projects to improve our BAU systems and efficiency. Another key area of focus for this role will be the continuous improvement of our Commodity Risk Management System (CRMS).

There’s no “typical day” we can describe. Part of a humming team of 10, your mahi will be varied and exciting, working across investor relations, commodity risk management, financial modelling, capital allocation, and research of market and industry trends. We’re in a period of transformation, with loads of exciting projects underway and more coming up. We’re on a mission to decarbonise Aotearoa, and the behind-the-scenes mahi to get there is unlike anything else you could find in NZ.

This won’t just be great for your career, **it’s great for Aotearoa.**

**Qualifications**:
**Ko wai koe | About you**

In the words of the guy who could be your new boss, good Corporate Finance is art + science. To nail this role, you’ll need a little creativity and magic as well as the technical competencies you already know about, all of which you’ve developed over years of experience in a similar role. You have refined your own consultative style and know how to craft business cases that really connect with people. You can influence and build rapport with ease - the whole relationship side of things comes naturally for you. You thrive in dynamic conversation and back your great verbal skills up with written comms that are just as good. You’re well used to writing reports and business cases and take care to deliver them with just the right level of detail and a polished look.

You have developed this level of professionalism over years of hard-earned experience, starting with study toward your university qualification (in Accounting, Finance or Economics), all the way through to now, where you’ve worked a fair bit of time in corporate finance and have a high degree of capability in financial modelling, project evaluation, investment analysis, and M&A. You get a kick out of researching and evaluating data and are comfortable working independently, but also enjoy bouncing off of peers and working collaboratively.

It would be great if you’ve worked in the Energy sector before, but we’re happy to provide training on the markets and would love to see a variety of backgrounds. If you have an interest in data, even better - there’s real opportunity to get stuck into that side of things, particularly on the commodity risk side.
