A central tool for our carbon management advisory business for infrastructure clients is the Moata Carbon Portal our in-house carbon tool for calculating and reducing embodied carbon in new assets. This tool is in constant development along with a suite of other carbon and climate tools residing on our Moata platform, Mott MacDonald unique and powerful combination of domain knowledge plus digital solutions Moata - Mott MacDonald.

We are seeking an experience Senior Advisor, Climate Change, Carbon and Sustainability to join our Advisory team based in Wellington. You will be responsible for:

- Provide outstanding delivery of our products and services.
- Provide high value consultancy to customers at enterprise, programme, and project levels
- Challenge the status-quo and drive new, innovative ways to achieve climate and carbon outcomes for our clients
- Develop value add services to our offerings which address emerging customer needs and drive growth in climate and carbon advisory services
- Provide technical expertise in climate and carbon advisory services
- Work collaboratively both internally with engineer domains and digital ventures and externally across client, supplier’s industry organisations and regulators
- Support the business through coaching and mentoring to understand delivering our climate and carbon advisory offering.

What we would like to see from you:

- Experience in leading the delivery of Net Zero and Carbon reduction projects with a solid background in carbon baselines target setting across a range of project types especially in the infrastructure sector
- Knowledge of Net Zero, Zero Carbon Act and policy influencing carbon and climate change
- Knowledge of key methodologies, frameworks and data sources associated with carbon foot printing and carbon management, (e.g. PAS2080: Carbon Management in infrastructure, ISCA, Science Based Targets, UN SDGs among others)
- Experience in engaging with clients, particularly asset owners, to open new carbon advisory opportunities and turn them into project work and clear deliverables
- Experience in sustainability assessments and working closely with environment and design teams
- Well-rounded knowledge on wider sustainability and climate change issues
- Bachelor’s degree / post-graduate qualifications in a relevant science or engineering discipline
- Understanding of related environmental topics in infrastructure development
- Understanding of renewable energy or financial aspects of carbon management
