The Senior Advisor Sustainability is an exciting new role within the Property Strategy & Planning team.
**Te whiwhinga mahi/The Opportunity**
In this role you will be responsible for supporting, developing, influencing, and delivering the Ministry's sustainability strategy and emissions reductions. You will also be responsible for leading the Ministry's annual carbon emissions audit.
As a sustainability professional, you will be involved in projects and operational initiatives at local, regional, and national scales, developing solutions for embedding sustainability into the Ministry. You will assist in seeking buy in and support from the senior leadership team to help influence organisational culture and support behavioural changes.
Reporting to the Principal Advisor Sustainability, the Senior Advisor Sustainability will work closely with staff and functional leads across the Ministry to deliver an integrated sustainability strategy. Therefore, a proven ability to build strong relationships and to work collaboratively, with advanced interpersonal skills is a must.

To be successful in the role you will have:
- Good knowledge of sustainability (including climate change, carbon emission analysis, Carbon Neutral Government Programme, behaviour change) with an understanding of the industry and the current issues that are being faced.
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience and a demonstrable commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Experience in managing, analysing, and reporting data sets and sustainability reporting processes.
- Skills in statistical analysis, managing large and complex data sets, and creating data insights.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
- 2+ years relevant sustainability experience
- Experience of working in a complex multi-stakeholder environment that uses structured programme and project practices to plan and deliver change.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain a range of effective internal and external delivery relationships and networks.
- Relationship management demonstrated by establishment and maintenance of a range of effective business/operational management inter-relationships across business units and/or a network of professionals, managers, and external parties.
- Demonstrate a strong customer focus.
- Have an understanding of carbon emissions forecasting.
- Strong administration and written communication skills; report writing and development of proposals.
- Self-manage and Can work independently and take initiative.
- An optimistic attitude towards sustainability and the positive outcomes sustainability initiatives can achieve.

**Utu ā-tau/**Salary**
Salary Range: The appointing salary for this role will be between $90,377 and $118,022 based on skills and experience.
