Mō te tūranga | About the roleThe Manager Procurement Capability and Practice leads the team responsible for the development and ownership of Fire and Emergency's procurement processes and practice (tools, templates, guidance and business processes). This includes contract and supplier relationship management frameworks, ownership of Fire and Emergency's contract management system and is responsible for procurement related data, analytics, and reporting. The role will drive right-sized best practice and standards to optimise the performance of procurement across Fire and Emergency. Ngā kawenga matua | Key Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining Fire and Emergency's procurement processes and practice.
- Identifying requirements for and leading, procurement capability development across Fire and Emergency.
- Managing and maintaining the Fire and Emergency's contract management system.
- Development and implementation of a Supplier Relationship Management Framework within Fire and Emergency.
- Prepare papers to support the development of procurement capability in Fire and Emergency.
- Lead procurement innovation working closely with the Head of Procurement, Manager Sourcing, Procurement Business partners and Business Group leadership teams.
- Actively involved in identifying and influencing changes that improve commercial capability within Fire and Emergency.
- Developing and maintaining strong collaborative relationships.
- Provide back up for the Head of Procurement, Sourcing Manager and Procurement Business Partners, as required.
Ngā whakaritenga matua | Key Requirements
- Strong technical procurement experience (10+ years), leading or supporting procurement and contract management.
- Strong strategic experience (5+ years) working in procurement assurance and transformation space, influencing at a ‘C' suite level.
- Significant people leadership experience within the procurement and contract management area.
- Knowledge and practical experience in the provision of procurement advice to stakeholders.
- Understanding of risk management in a procurement context e.g. Health & Safety.
- A sound understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and coaching skills.
- Well-developed analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
- Advanced experience in managing diverse internal and external relationships.
