Council Lands Officer

**Mō te tūranga | About the role**
This role has great variety, where one day you could be working at a strategic level, partnering with communities and developers on land use, ensuring we are actively managing defect repairs and pest control, or the next day with contract or invoicing issues.
You will also:
- Provide oversight and management of licence income and expenses.
- Develop, manage, and report on Scheme Lands annual work programme.
- Oversee the day-to-day management of Council owned and/or administered land.
- Assess & improve current land management strategies and tactics.
- Report to senior leadership and council groups on results from inspections, and working with private landowners and the operations teams to get problems solved.
**Mō ngā pūkenga | Qualifications and experience**
- Relevant diploma or degree in environmental science, property management, farm management, engineering, asset management, or similar.
- 3-5 years of previous field work, property management, farming experience, or similar.
- Well-developed verbal and written skills with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of internal and external customers
- IT Competency. GIS, Conquest & Fulcrum experience ideal.
- Full drivers licence
- Physically fit for the field work involved (you need to be able to walk on uneven ground for 1-2km)

If you join our team, you will work on real information, system, and asset problems, and play a key part as we work collaboratively with our land licensees and local communities to create an environmentally sustainable future.
You will work alongside a team diverse in backgrounds and roles including the Asset engineer, maintenance planner, and asset officers.
