What you'll be doing - Te whakamahereDue to the growth of our digital strategy, we now have a new and exciting opportunity for a Data Governance Manager to join NZTE. The Data Governance Manager roles plays a vital role for NZTE, as you'll be responsible for developing and owning our governance of all things data, information and knowledge, including that it's capture, storage, use, access and processing is secure, compliant, and ethical.
The Data Governance Manager requires a brilliant combination of data governance/management and stakeholder relationship engagement expertise, as you'll be working with different stakeholders across the business (data stewards, senior leaders) to ensure that the data governance and management frameworks are being adhered to. You'll also be responsible for:
- Developing standards, policies, and procedures to provide technical assurance for the ongoing implementation of our data governance policy
- Building and maintaining detailed audits of our core data systems, information and knowledge assets
- Partnering with the Data Architect (when recruited) to design and implement Master Data Management, Metadata Repositories and Reference Data Architectures
- Acting as an evangelist for best practice Data & Information Management and Data & Information Governance.
What you'll need to be successful | Ō PūkengaYou'll be passionate about data, data governance, and data quality management and will have experience of building and maintaining data governance and management frameworks. You'll bring experience of having delivered and implemented data governance projects, ideally around Master Data Management and Metadata Repositories.
You'll be insightful, proactive, have a curious mindset and bring strong coaching and advising qualities to ensure that we are adhering to best data governance and management practices. You'll have a knack of adapting your communication style to your audience and instinctively deliver information and data in a visually interesting way that tells a clear story. This role will see you working across the business and different stakeholders, so having a strong ability to build strong stakeholder relationships is essential.
You will be insightful, proactive and bring a curious mindset to proactively provide assessments of the adequacy of, and effectiveness of, our services involving the governance and management of data to ensure that we are meeting the required. You will also possess a unique problem solving, pragmatic and adaptable mindset, and have strong planning and prioritisation skills, as this role will see you working across the whole NZTE One Global Team in guiding us on this journey.
It would be advantageous if you have an understanding of data architecture and have experience in running data management/governance platforms on Profisee, Atacama, Collibra or Azure Purview.
