  • Work closely with our clients to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.

  • Develop, test and maintain robust data pipelines used to integrate, transform and deliver data aligned to business requirements.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot and enhance the performance and reliability of data pipelines and queries to align with best practices.
  • Implement data quality checks and optimisations to validate the accuracy and reliability of data while constantly improving performance and scalability of pipelines.
  • Design and implement scalable data models used to support and inform decision-making.
  • Detail and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation for data processes, models and flows.
  • Take ownership of project management for assigned tasks, ensuring clear understanding of objectives, proactive communication, and the delivery of analytical and architectural solutions aligned with client needs.
  • Deliver and present commercially focused outcomes that are actionable by our clients.
  • Perform analytics tasks, including data visualization, to translate complex data insights into clear and actionable outputs for stakeholders.
  • Create strategies for data integration and ensuring seamless integration of data across various platforms.

What you will bring to this role:

  • Advanced SQL skills, particularly for data modelling, transformation and analysis.
  • Develop, debug, and optimise Python scripts for data manipulation and analysis, with proficiency in handling data structures (dictionaries, lists, Pandas) and leveraging PySpark/SparkSQL where necessary. Ensure adherence to Python coding standards (e.g., PEP 8) and implement efficient error handling and resource utilisation.
  • Ability to set up Python environments, manage packages, and build unit tests to ensure robust, maintainable, and efficient code.
  • Experience building and maintaining robust data pipelines in Python supported by tools such as Azure Data Factory and AWS Glue.
  • Familiarity with data warehouses and lakehouses like Snowflake, Databricks, & Fabric.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of best practices for data engineering, data quality and governance.
  • A strong desire to learn new tools and ways of working on the job.
  • Passionate about problem solving, great communication skills and ability to communicate effectively about your solutions.
