Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Risk Manager to join our Enterprise Operations, focusing on Financial Crime. As a member of the team, you will be helping to champion data governance and risk management activities across ASB. From overarching strategy to detailed implementation, this role gets to influence at every level of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Key point of contact for a Financial Crime screening process and be a leading advocate for effective data governance and data risk management.
  • Ensure Financial Crime data is assured through application of data control standards and alignment to enterprise data guardrails through completion of a data risk and control assessment.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance and uplift Financial Crime key data controls to support the effective function and operation of the data control environment.
  • Support and provide assistance with data and data quality issue and incident management where they relate to data control gaps or weaknesses.
  • Develop and maintain screening process dashboards and reports to communicate data risk and control metrics and trends.
  • Manage relationships with key business stakeholders.

You will ideally be a self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills where your positivity and excellent communication skills enable you to share knowledge and learn from others while contributing to key outcomes.

  • Strong background in the application of data governance principles with a particular focus on uplifting of data controls.
  • Experience within banking/financial services or financial crime is an advantage.
  • Business intelligence and information management experience.
  • Demonstrate ability to collaborate across diverse teams, effectively communicating with multiple cross functional groups to uplift data controls across the end-to-end screening process.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and present to executive level.
