**Mō te tangata | About you**
- Currently studying towards/recently completed a tertiary qualification in Environmental or Resource Management, Ecology, Planning, Science, or a related discipline.
- Studying toward or completed a marketing or communications qualification will also be considered.
- Proven success at building relationships and resolving issues with internal and external stakeholders.
- A passion for protecting our taiao (environment).
- The ability to work independently with mínimal supervision as well as being an engaged and active team member is necessary.
- The ability to engage a diverse range of people.
- A good level of computer literacy including across the Microsoft suite of products.
- An ability to create and maintain resources and reports.
**Mō te turanga | About the role**
- Full-time role for a fixed term period of 13 weeks, starting in mid-November 2025 and ending early mid-February 2026.
- 40-hour work week, Wednesday to Sunday including during the Christmas period and on stat days (Christmas day excluded, days off can be negotiated).
- You will primarily work on boat ramps, at specific walking tracks and at summer events around the Coromandel Peninsula.

**As a Student with the WRC biosecurity team, you will be responsible for**:
- Engaging with visitors and advising them on practices to prevent the spread of marine pests and kauri disease,
- Attending key events to promote kauri and marine protection
- Undertaking a stocktake of current see weed, bag it, bin it signs at water bodies in the Waikato region and replacing damaged signs.
- Reporting monthly on engagement.
