**Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role**:
Are you a seasoned and strategic HR practitioner with a passion for driving organisational excellence? We are seeking a Principal Business Partner to join our dynamic People team in a newly established position. Reporting to the Head of People you'll be a technical expert in HR (in one or more disciplines) and will play a pivotal role in setting the People function up for success.
Being a trusted and customer centric Business Partner you'll work closely with leaders across the organisation to proactively drive modern and engaging HR projects and programmes, provide advice and support, and work with our People function staff to build great experiences for our people.
As a technical leader in the People function, you'll support the building of internal capability, being a mentor and coach where required. You will have an inclusive and collaborative leadership style, working collaboratively across the People function to deliver key projects and programmes of work.
You'll bring knowledge and experience managing and consulting on a broad range of HR and Organisational Development areas, including performance management, facilitation, talent, and strategic workforce planning.
Skills/Knowledge

**In this role you work you will have**:

- Proven track record and experience as a HR leader, preferably in a technical capacity, supported by a qualification in HR or related discipline.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence to manage relationships with a wide range of people, particularly with Senior and Executive leaders.
- Experience coaching, mentoring and building internal HR capability.
- Familiarity with NZ Public Sector practices and wider industry best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to lead key strategic projects through to success
- A commitment to delivering on our Tiriti o Waitangi responsibilities

The expected appointment range for this role is $155,000 - $170,000 with an additional 3% Kiwisaver. This range reflects the expected skills and experience needed for successful delivery in this role.
