We work across all of New Zealand and Australia, providing payroll support across the business. We’re a close, hard-working team that sits within the wider People and Culture team.
About the role
This role sits within one of Datacom’s key teams. The position will report to the Payroll Team Leader, and will be part of the payroll team who are accountable for the operational payroll process, streamlining procedures in line with legislative requirements and good payroll practices.
This is a 6-month fixed term role as we evolve the way we administer our payroll services. The position is critical to ensuring all Datacom NZ employees are paid correctly each fortnight and management are well engaged with the inputs and outputs of the pay process.
This fixed term opportunity will give you the chance to make this role your own and would suit either a graduate or junior who is looking to take their next step in their career goals. There are a lot of exciting things happening in the Payroll team with new systems and projects underway so if a challenge is what you are after this will be the ideal role for you
What you’ll do
- Update and maintain accurate employee records in the payroll database with relevant information relating to deductions, allowances, benefits and payroll changes.
- Maintain records of documents processed and compile various reports according to standard operating procedures.
- Attend and respond to customer inquiries.
- Review and reconciliation of staff contracts and records.
- Process pre-employment checks on new staff.
- Maintain and manage time sheet module and employee self-service portal.
- Regular maintenance and reporting on Medical and Staff Insurances to 3rd Party.
- Maintenance and regular reporting of payroll costing & balances to management.
What you’ll bring
- As well as being a great team player, excellent communicator and a positive energetic individual, you will also possess the following;
- Familiar with HRMIS proficiency
- Intermediate level of understanding of the NZ Holidays Act and employment legislation
- Excellent attention to detail and communication.
- Ability to work under pressure and deadlines.
- Ability to multi-task with good problem-solving skills.
