Are you a keen practical person who is good with tools, and enjoys finding out how things work and learning new skills?

We are seeking a junior technician to join our Instrumentation & Remote Monitoring team at Geotechnics Auckland.

This is a hands-on position (about half office, half field) that requires a high degree of technical skill and attention to detail.

You will be someone who is willing to get their hands dirty when the occasion calls for it.

Key Responsibilities:

- Monitoring geotechnical instrumentation on site
- Designing, assembling, and deploying data logger & remote sensing equipment in the field
- Performing repairs, maintenance and calibration on existing equipment
- Data processing and automation
- Communicating with clients and site staff to ensure work is done safely and properly

In addition:

- Confident with a range of hand & power tools
- Full clean NZ Drivers License
- Physically fit and capable of occasional heavy lifting (~30 Kg)
- Previous experience working in the construction/infrastructure environment
- Ability to troubleshoot issues methodically
- Strong computer skills including experience with Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment
- Must be willing to travel and work on-site as needed
