Senior Technician

We are on the hunt for a new team member to join our Auckland team based in Onehunga.

The role is based Monday to Friday with occasional nightworks and Saturdays. You will have the opportunity to work with a forward-thinking team.

As a Concrete Technician you will be responsible for Liaising with clients and engineers as a third party by measuring the quality of concrete onsite and in the laboratory. This will be achieved by putting the concrete through tests to ensure strength, consistency, and quality meets the client's specification.

About you:

- Ideally you will have previous concrete testing experience, performing slump tests and casting of cylinders in accordance with NZS 3112
- You understand why consistency in testing is paramount
- You understand water to cement ratios and their importance in concrete production
- Laboratory testing - density, compression testing, flexural testing, splitting tensile
- Attention to detail
- Previous IANZ laboratory experience preferred but not essential
- Ability to work both autonomously and within a team
- Physically capable to lift 25kgs samples, handle and test aggregate and concrete samples
- Full class 1 license (able to drive a manual)
- Health & safety conscious
- Computer literate, especially Microsoft excel and word
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Team player, self-motivated, with a positive attitude
- High standards of housekeeping, maintenance and monitoring of equipment calibration
- Enjoys a hands-on quality role
- Friendly professional manner with excellent communication skills
