The Commercial Assistant role is to work within the Comms Ops team, assisting the Commercial Schedules, to ensure that the playlists for all Discovery New Zealand are maximised to their potential, from an on air look to a commercial strategy to increase revenue.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist in the preparation of daily logs for transmission.
- Maintain break structures and rate cards within BTS.
- Manage late amendments from Content to commercial changes.
- Ensure Industry codes are adhered to.
- Placement of Sponsorship and Infomercials
- Liaise with Content/ TT ops and Broadcast Ops to ensure workflow is smooth.
- The Employee shall ensure they are familiar with the Employer's policies and procedures, and any modifications to those policies and procedures that may be introduced from time to time.
- Carry out your work safely and without endangering or causing harm to yourself, fellow staff members, contractors, customers, visitors, or the general public.
- Other duties as required.
- The Company may, after fair and reasonable consultation, change your duties, from time to time, for commercial reasons but not so as to substantially change the nature of the position.

**Qualities Required**
- Possesses a detailed understanding of NZ Broadcast environment.
- An understanding of all channels across the DINZ portfolio, and the individual requirements of each play out area.
- Experience working in a rapidly changing market environment where technology and innovation are critical to success and growth.
- Outstanding strategic and analytical skills.
- Demonstrable decision making capabilities in a data led environment.
- The ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the business, both written and verbal.
- Self starter who can work collaboratively with other teams
- Statistical accuracy and outstanding attention to detail
- Media experience, experience across TV platforms will be highly valued.
