How do you get businesses to comply with the Fair Trading Act and adhere to Product Safety Standards, like selling safe magnets? How do you help New Zealanders to know if they have been given a fair deal when buying a major appliance or booking a holiday online?
Come and work on the plans to do just that.
We are looking for a high-performing Senior Adviser with a strong external Engagement focus to join our Fair Trading branch. This is a permanent role based in either our Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) office or Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) office.

If you have the following skills and attributes, you could make a great Senior Adviser, Engagement:

- Ability to craft a clear, accurate and compelling story about the work and outcomes of the Fair Trading Branch.
- Project and/or programme management skills and the ability to deliver in partnership with colleagues and external experts
- Experience in managing stakeholder interactions and a thirst for getting out and about and learning from others and bringing about change
- Ability to balance long-term goals with working at pace

You will also demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
